CMA and Buttgenbach Campground are located within the Croom Tract of Withlacoochee State Forest near the intersection of I-75 and State Road 50. The Croom Motorcycle Area is a playground for off-road motorcycle and all-terrain vehicle (ATV) riders. The 2,600 acre tract has miles of dirt roads, gullies, dry lake beds and forest to navigate.

Q: Do I need a Croom Motorcycle Area pass to ride at Croom?
A; Yes, you will have to purchase either a day or annual pass to ride at CMA. Click here to purchase Croom passes.
Q; When is Croom Motorcycle Area Open?
A; CMA is open from 8 AM to 5 PM 7 days a week. The gates and day use areas are open from 8 AM to 5PM 7 days a week. If you are staying either at the Moto Ranch or Buttgenbach Campground, you can ride from sunrise to sunset all year.
Q: Can you ride ATVs Withlacoochee State Forest?
A: Yes. A permit is required for each OHM/ATV using CMA. Annual permits are valid from July 1st-June 30th with no refunds. Single Day Use permits are also available. Fees are posted at the entrance gate and are pro-rated in January. Click here to purchase your permits/passes.

A: Croom Motorcycle Area is a total of 2600 acres of riding trails, located inside Withlacoochee State Forest that encompasses a total of more than 20,000 acres of ALL kinds of outdoor adventures.
Q: Can you camp at Croom Motorcycle Area and/or Withlacoochee State Forest?
A: Yes, full-facility, primitive, and group camping are available at numerous locations. Many day-use facilities are available on Withlacoochee State Forest for picnicking and wildlife viewing. And, the Croom Motorcycle Area provides the developed Buttgenbach Campground along with 2,600 acres of off-road trails for motorcycle and ATV enthusiasts.
Another option is to stay at one of the vacation rentals offered by Moto Ranch at Croom, located inside CMA, and Withlacoochee State Forest as an alternative to the Buttgenbach Campground. The Moto Ranch offers a five acre compound with two houses and three travel trailers, that all have ALL the amenities of home, and Croom’s trails are right outside their gates.

Q: Is there a motocross track at Croom?
A; Yes, there is a track at Croom. CMA calls it their “Technical Riding Area”. It is a professionally built track with dirt other than sand brought in specifically for the track.
The Technical Riding Area (TRA) within the Croom Motorcycle Area of the Withlacoochee State Forest is the newest addition for riders to enjoy. The TRA is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, weather permitting. You can purchase your pass for the TRA, and find out more information here.

A: There are 2600 acres of a mix of single track woods riding, hills to climb, pits from Croom’s mining days, kids and intermediate riding areas, and multiple pits. The terrain is varied and always changing. It would take forever to explore it all.
Q: Is alcohol allowed in Croom Motorcycle Area?
CMA does not allow alcohol on State property. However, the is a private five acre compound inside Croom Motorcycle Area, that offers two houses and three travel trailer vacation rentals. It’s called Moto Ranch at Croom. You are allowed to have alcohol on their property, that is located inside CMA. So, no the State Park does not allow alcohol on their property, but you can stay at the Moto Ranch, inside Croom, and drink.

A: Cell service is hit or miss once you are off the exit at I 75, and WIFI is not available on State property. They have free WIFI available to guests staying on property, along with satellite TV when you stay at one of their rentals. So, no the State Park does not have much reception or any WIFI on their property, but you can stay at the Moto Ranch, inside Croom, and still have all the amenities of home.
